January Meeting Minutes

Christina Yeager gave status on  Sponsorship - 25 new Sponsors this year!! Reviewed those on the hook to contact sponsors from last year. Reveiwed committed sponsors for this year both new and existing.
Currently on track for a good turnout of sponsors, but we still need help.

Suzanne Harvey - Opening Day Commisioner- Hass been in dialogue with a lower perk contact to consider moving opening day to the end of April and include a fun day, similar to what they do.  This will allow us to avoid the more cold weather that often is our opening day.  Whill this year will stay much the same, we are looking for place of opportunity to make it an event better event in 2014.

Derek Reviewed Calendar - Spoke in detail about the clinics coming up at Ursinus College.  Still has slots open for the Major Division and others.  should be a winn win event for UP and Ursinus.

We can't host a major league game until we increase the size of PL field. Hoping to begin construction beginning of august. Committee is formed of UPLL and OFC members.

Registration - Janie sent a current report. currently 444 enrolled. Signs have been distributed throughout the township.

Safety - Susan Collins and Meagan Santino - Each will coordinate Safety as Susan tranfers duties to Megan.  Welcome abopard Megan!!

Maintenance days will have a coordinator for each of the fields. Coordinators will have a plan that will show what needs to be done.
Everyone  be certified to run the groomer! Training will be provided.

Trying to reserve Black Rock and Oaks Elementary for practices.  Efforts are ongoing with Steve G and Derek.

Derek presented a Powerpoint put together by Steve Vivian outlining the new year for Baseball.

Majors will be played on a 50/70 diamond. Major League will be college teams. Shirts will be the same but team name will be in script across the front.

Staggered game times.

New batting cage near the existing cages.

Joe Offshack suggested locking the dugouts at Penn Liberty to send the message that the field is closed. We will explore further.

Will get a field cover. Two possible sponsors being considered to help subsidize

Pren reviewed new chin guards and softball catchers glove for next year.

Different seamed ball for the machine throw more consistent.

Softball Pitching machine is fixed.


Derek will ask Steve Mossip to talk to Timbario about cleaning out behind Judge field.


No Call ups in Majors and Minors.

Umpires  We will be using a three pronged approach for umpires this year.

October Minutes

Field conversions to 50-70 are in the planning stages.


Mainenance of all the fields will be managed by each respective commissioner.

Dino Field Update - Bobcat Access is created for Penn Liberty Pitching Tunnels.
Board would like to hang more netting for the top of the tunnels/

Waiting for Moncto fernce to come to raise the batting cages and install nets.

Looking into installing padding or mats on the ground to limit bounces and ricochets around the cages.

L Screen for each field. they are in the batting cage shed.

Tom Timbario Visited to address some field concerns and receive his sponsor plaque.

Dave Walsh spoke from Eco Green Lawn Care. First steps is to do a soil test to confirm a baseline for treratment. Highly recommends doing more treatments and soon in order to start to see results in the spring

Vote was conducted for Major Commisioner S Vivian and J Daywalt.  Steve Vivian was the winner.

Found another leak on the water pipe. Dino is coordinating another qoute to repair the leak.

Sting Gave $464 to the league as a result of a fundraising effort.  Thanks to the Sting for the donation!!

Coordinate the repair of all the pitching machine repairs and liners still needs to happen.

Welcome aboard to all our new members.

Dino proposed spreading dimatex before fall ball is over.  He will keep all advised on progreasses.

June Membership Meeting Minutes

Grants
Derek has supplied the necessary documentation and received written confirmation that all of the grants have been properly closed out by the state.  We will wait to see how the application process develops

Maintenance Report

Mounds still need to be repaired - There is significant improvements needed to the Penn Liberty Mound.  Dino will coordinate the work to be done.
Work on the batting cages continues
Key to the Batting Cages is missing.  Dino will order replacements

Timabarios will be called to negotiate better pricing for next year and an outstanding invoice.

Softball Report
 Tournament teams
9,10,11,12, Junior teams will be represented in Districts this year.

Team Counts for TrophiesDecisions were made regarding trophies.  
1st place teams will get the higher value trophies, smaller ones for 2nd place in a division. T-Shirts will be ordered as well for remainder of players

Challenger DayMeeting was held last week. Reviewed agenda looking for older kids to help the 22 teams attending Challenger day.
Parking will be a challenge 300 kids playing in the days events.
 Junior Team 6 kids have volunteered.
Fundraising has been a success. Majority of expenses are covered by donations and sponsorships.
Volunteer Opportunities remain for Junior and Senior Teams.

Mike Aquilante will be printing a sign for sponsors for Challenger day


Cooking will be done by Lockheed Martin.

April Meeting Minutes
